This summer, Just Let Me Do It awarded its second franchise to Samantha and Robert Mayhugh, and Ashley Perry in Jacksonville, Florida. We sat down with Robert, Samantha and Ashley to learn more about them and their decision to join the Just Let Me Do It Family. Meet our newest franchisees – Robert and Samantha Mayhugh, and Ashley Perry.
JLMDI – Hi, Jay. First, I would like to welcome you to the Just Let Me Do It Franchise family. Can you tell us a little about your background?
Robert Mayhugh (RM) – Thanks so much. Before learning about the Just Let Me Do It Franchise Opportunity, my wife and I have been in the residential and commercial construction business for more than 45 years. In all that time, we’ve never seen anything quite like Just Let Me Do It
JLMDI – What made you choose the Just Let Me Do It Franchise?
Samantha Mayhugh (SM) – To expound on what Robert just said, we’ve never seen anything like Just Let Me Do It. For years Robert has talked to me about moving into high volume, lighter commercial jobs, but we just never had the time or energy to put together a system like what Colleen and Curtis have done and perfected. To move totally away from residential and new construction and focus on B2B repair and remodel really made sense for us at this point.
JLMDI – Why did you choose a franchise model over starting a business on your own?
RM – First, I want to say that I had never been to a franchise show in my life. For some reason we were drawn to check it out, and low and behold the Just Let Me Do It booth was the first booth we saw walking in, and pretty much the only booth we visited. We spent a lot of time talking with the Pyles, and we just knew that this was the right thing for us. I believe it was truly meant to be. They have a system that has more than 20 years of proven success. Even with all my construction experience, they have carved out a niche market and developed a franchise system around it that would take years for anyone else to do on their own.
JLMDI – How was training, and how did it prepare you for success?
RM – Training went very smoothly. As I mentioned, I have more than 45 years of experience in construction, so for me it was more about learning the franchise model. Curtis and I get along very well, and I am confident we will be a huge success in Jacksonville.
SM – I would like to add that while I have always handled the books for my husband, I don’t have any experience with the hands-on part of the jobs. Colleen did a fantastic job in training us on the back of house operations. I know Curtis and Colleen are always a call away, so we are in a very good position to hit the ground running.
JLMDI – Would you recommend owning a Just Let Me Do It franchise to others, and why?
Ashley Perry (AP) – Absolutely! I would definitely recommend owning a Just Let Me Do It franchise to anyone. My background is not in the construction industry, but Curtis and Colleen have done an excellent job explaining the Just Let Me Do It methodology and I couldn’t be more excited to jump into this venture head first. They provide all the tools that you need to succeed, which is very comforting.
JLMDI – You are based in Jacksonville, but what other areas you service?
SM – Sure, we service all of Duval County and the Greater Jacksonville Metro area including Clay and St. Johns Counties.
